Training activity: “Damage deriving from motor vehicles and road accidents. Compulsory insurance and relations between insurance companies and parties involved in accidents.” 27 October, 2025

The School of Magistrates, on 27 October, 2025, had the training activity on topic: “Damage deriving from motor vehicles and road accidents. Compulsory insurance and relations between insurance companies and parties involved in accidents. Scientific evidence “Black box of vehicles, Airbag Control Module”; Computer programs that are used for the reconstruction of road accidents. Damage reward.”

The purpose of this training: 

To increase the knowledge of judges and of other participants regarding the treatment of cases of damage reward that derives from road accidents, by recognizing even the judicial practice in this ground, as well as scientific evidences. 

The training was focused on the main elements of the damage reward in the field of compulsory insurance, bringing these according to the legal regulation in force, as well of the judicial practice. Also, in a part of the training were elaborated scientific evidences and computer programs for the reconstruction of road accidents. Methodologically the activity had an interactive character where participants treated concrete and hypothetical cases. 

In this training activity were elaborated different topics, such as: 

• The damage that derives from motor vehicles and road accidents. Compulsory insurance and relations between insurance companies and parties involved in the accident. Figures of the damage and the manner of the calculation of the amount of compensation under the specific law; 
• Lawsuit for the damage reward. Terms of lawsuit prescription. The effects of the criminal sentence in the civil judgment. The signing of the agreement with the insurance company and the right of the party to go to the court; 
• Scientific evidence “Black box of vehicles, Airbag Control Module, Computer programs that are used for the reconstruction of road accidents.

In this training activity participated judges, prosecutors, legal advisors and judicial police officers of the Republic of Albania.
