Training activity: “Judicial practice of the Administrative Court regarding Industrial and Intellectual Property”

The School of Magistrates in cooperation with the General Directorate of Industrial Property (GDIP), along with the Albanian – Swiss Intellectual Property Project (ALSIP), organized on 8 November, 2024, at the School of Magistrates, the training activity on topic: 

“Judicial practice of the Administrative Court regarding Industrial and Intellectual Property.” 

The panel of experts was composed by Prof. Dr. Mariana Semini – Tutulani,  Mrs. Elvana Çiçolli. Mrs. Maria Solis, Mr. Përparim Mezini and Mr. Emiljano Alla.

The purpose of this training was: 

To provide for participants deep knowledge and practical skills regarding the manner how are elaborated issues of industrial and intellectual property in the administration judicial system. 

The purpose of the training is also the addressing of issues related to intellectual and industrial property in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI), providing for professionals that confront new issues related to AI and intellectual property, knowledge on recent developments and judicial 

The training was realized by combining presentations (up to 20 - 30 min) with the discussion of issues brought for discussion (self-study questions, questions, answers) and case law exercises & quizzes to encourage and realize the active interaction of participants.  

In this training activity were elaborated different topics, such as: 

• Presentation with the administrative organs of GDIP that examine conflicts in the field of industrial property. 
• Copyright and the other rights related to it in the Republic of Albania. 
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its influence in the market of intellectual property. 
• Discussions on arguments related to AI even when they fall under the regulations of copyrights or those of industrial property. 
• Civil, criminal and administrative liabilities deriving from juridical actions of AI. 
• The judicial practice of the Administrative Court in relation to Industrial and Intellectual Property. 

 In this training activity participated new magistrates of the Republic of Albania.
