Training activity: “The transferring of convicted persons.”

The School of Magistrates, on 23 December, 2024, has at the School of Magistrates, the training activity on topic:

 “The transferring of convicted persons. Conditions and procedure of transferring. Application of the Article 11 of the Convention on the transfer of convicted persons.” 

This activity is led by:

At the end of this training, participants are going to have the opportunity to: 

• Review and update their knowledge in relation to the legal basis of internation judicial cooperation, with special focus on the process of the transferring of convicted persons;
• Understand and apply the legal provisions that regulate international juridical cooperation in criminal cases related to transferring of convicted persons.
• To be updated with the jurisprudence and current judicial practices that are related to cases of the transferring of convicted persons.

The training will be realized by combining presentations (up to 20 - 30 min) with the discussion of issues brought for discussion (self-study questions, questions, answers) and case law exercises & quizzes to encourage and realize the active interaction of participants.  

In this training activity will be elaborated different topics, such as:  

• The transferring of convicted persons in the context of international cooperation. Circumstances and procedures of transferring.  
• The conversion of penalty. Application of Article 11 of the Convention on the transfer of convicted persons.
• Bilateral agreements between Albania and other States for the transferring of convicted persons. Case reference from judicial practice. 

In this training activity participate judges, prosecutors, officers of the judicial police of the Republic of Albania.
