Training activity: October 15th 2025

The School of Magistrates, on 15 October,  2025, had the training activity on topic: “Obtaining the status of the defendant. The notification act of the accuse, characteristics. The invalidity of the notification act of the accuse, consequences of the invalidity. Change, completion and correction of the accuse. Their meaning and application to practice. Re-obtaining the status of the defendant after the invalidation of the judgment and legal effects."

The purpose of this training is:

The training of magistrates in the correct application and according to the attitudes of the High Court, of criminal procedural provisions that are related to the accuse, its  change, completion, and the re-obtaining of the status of the defendant, after the invalidation of the judgment.

The training was realized by combining presentations (up to 20 - 30 min) with the discussion of issues brought for discussion (self-study questions, questions, answers) and case law exercises & quizzes to encourage and realize the active interaction of participants. 

In this training activity were elaborated different topics, such as:

• Obtaining the status of the defendant. The notification act of the accuse, characteristics. The invalidity of the notification act of the accuse, consequences of the invalidity. 
• Change, completion and correction of the accuse.  Their meaning and application to practice.  Re-obtaining the status of the defendant after the invalidation of the judgment and legal effects.
• ECtHR standards on the accuse. Cases of practice from the High Court. 

In this training activity participated judges, prosecutors and officers of the judicial police of the Republic of Albania.
