Training Activity: The correct application of the agreement on the transfer of convicted persons from the United Kingdom into Albania.

TRAINING ACTIVITY 

“The correct application of the agreement on the transfer of convicted persons from the United Kingdom into Albania.”

The School of Magistrates, with the support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Albania, will organize some 1 – day training seminars, regarding the application of the agreement on the transfer of convicted persons from the United Kingdom into Albania. Seminars will be done on May 17, in Shëngjin, on May 20, in Tiranë, on May, 23 in Vlore and on May 24 maj, in  Pogradec. Participating experts in these training activities are: Amarildo Laçi, Henrik Ligori and  Sandër Simoni.

Training purposes: 

1. Presentation of magistrates on duty with the agreement signed between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Albania.
2. The correct interpretation of the attached table of the Agreement.
3. The concrete adaptability of penalties given in the UK. 

During the activity:  

Participants were familiarized with the agreement and more concretely were elaborated:

• Problems deriving from the agreement while being under implementation process in the judicial practice; 
• The application of the agreement and the inclusion of penalty (not conversion), difficulties and the interpretation of the attached table of the agreement; 
• Benefits of Albania from judicial decisions given in the United Kingdom; 
• How is realized adaptation concretely of life prison penalties from the United Kingdom according to the Albanian agreement and legislation.    

In training activities were used combined methods of the presentation with power point, discussions of questions, presentation of cases of practice, etc. In these activities will participate magistrates of different judicial districts in the country.
