Training Activity on topic, “Financial investigation of offenses in the field of trafficking.”

In the context of the Program of Continuous Formation, the School of Magistrates organized on 22 January, 2024, the training activity on topic: 

“Financial investigation of offenses in the field of trafficking, the collection of evidences for the damage of the trafficking victim by the exploitation of the victim, asset freezing, and the support of the claims for the compensation of victims.” 

The panel in this training activity is composed of:

• Mr. Arqilea Koça, expert;
• Mrs. Ervisa Hyka, facilitator.

The main purpose of this training activity is as follows: 

• The presentation of the international and Albanian domestic normative framework for the financial investigation of the offenses in the field of trafficking;   
• Obstacles and problems in the practical implementation of the compensation of the victims of trafficking.   

In this activity were elaborated various topics such as:

• The Albanian legislation regarding the rights of the victims for damage reward;
• The European Convention on the Compensation of Victims of Violent Crimes (ECCVVC);
• The right of the victim to claim the reward of material and moral damage in the civil process;
• Alternative instruments for compensation; the role of civil society; free legal aid; 
• The support of NGOs, that treat the victims of trafficking from the special fund and the social use of some confiscated assets as part of the well-administration of properties from the activity of AAPSK;
• The creation of the special fund with the confiscated assets, that intends the prevention of criminality and legal education, as well as the encouragement of social programs for this category; 
• Problems in practice regarding the application of legislation for damage claim.
